When is a ‘client’ not a client ? «.
This is one area of recruitment where there is a grey area. I have heard stories of companies signing every firm in town to their “vendor” list just to insure that they would not have their people poached….and this company had no intention of letting the majority of the firms work on any searches. I have also heard of “dirty” firms pulling someone out the backdoor and then pitching the hiring manager to fill that open position……both appear to be playing “dirty pool” in my book.
In any event there is a right way and a wrong way to engage and maintain client relationships…..and you have to know who is a “true” client and who is not…..either that or you spend your time getting a a bad reputation and spinning your wheels….
